Emil and the Detectives

Emil Tischbein is a model boy from the small town of Neustadt. When his mother sends him to Berlin to visit his grandmother and cousin Pony Hütchen, he boards the train carrying a secret: his mother’s hard-earned savings, pinned carefully inside his jacket. But the journey takes a dark turn when Emil falls asleep and awakens to find his money gone—and the only suspect is the mysterious man in the stiff hat who shared his compartment.

Arriving in Berlin alone and penniless, Emil spots the thief in the crowd. Rather than giving up, he teams up with a gang of local children, led by the resourceful Gustav and his trusty automobile horn. Together, they organize a citywide hunt, trailing the suspect through bustling streets, hotels, and cafés. What begins as a quest to recover stolen cash becomes an unforgettable adventure that tests Emil’s courage and ingenuity, proving that even a boy can outsmart a criminal with a little help from his friends.
