Beer & Big Business in a Small Town

Avery Flynn’s Enemies On Tap is a thoroughly modern romance peopled with strong, independent women, corporate politics, disgruntled ex-employees and lost love. When Miranda Sweet goes home to the small town of Salvation to clean up the brewery that she and her sisters just inherited from their eccentric uncle, she has no intention of spending any more time there than it will take to turn the business around and sell it to the acquisitions company she where she works. Hopefully she’ll be able to use the successful sale of Sweet Salvation Brewery to leverage her way into a big promotion and the corner office she has long lusted after.
Miranda is convinced there is nothing in Salvation for a Sweet, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, so she’ll just take care of business and get out. It could have been just that simple had it not been for Logan Martin, card carrying member of the local gentry, heir to the town’s banking establishment and the boy who took her virginity and then threw her to the small-town gossips. but Logan has plans of his own. He’s smack in the middle of a big development deal, one that will build an industrial park bringing much needed jobs to Salvation, not to mention proving that he’s a financial mover and shaker in his own right and not just the Martin kid who got his job at the bank by virtue of being the President’s son. Only problem is, in order to do it, he needs the property that financially troubled and hopelessly mismanaged Sweet Salvation Brewery sits on in order to build an access road to the highway. He knows what he wants, and he’s not about to let Miranda, the girl who couldn’t wait to get out of town after graduation, keep him from getting it.
I loved Enemies on Tap, and I only hope we’ll see more of the Sweet clan and the good folks of Salvation as the series develops.
