What A Ride!
This is NOT your average thriller. First of all, the hero is a woman. A small, flawed woman. No one is a secret agent or an Army Ranger, or a Navy Seal. Delta Force doesn’t show up to save the day. Nobody (so far, I have one more book to read) saves the whole world all by themselves. No one is a secret Nazi, or a witch, or some other kind of mythic or historic type.
So, that’s what these books are not. Here is what they ARE: fast. Fun. Full of action. Violence. Revenge. Redemption. Romance that isn’t all coy and annoying. Guns and shooting and chases and knife fights ranging from Quebec to the Caribbean. Not a long read or a deep read, definitely not great literature but sufficiently well-written that you can fall into the books and not get jarred out of the world by anything awkward, or stupid, or badly done. The characters are great, the plot is twisty, the setting is amazing, and at the end, you’ll be breathless but ready to go again. Highly recommended!
