Publisher Description
Catherine “Kay” Wolf’s poetic art can be seen following two vectors: human nature and nature. People—often including her family and friends, but sometimes those factoring in events of universal significance— formed a prominent subject in her writing, as did the birds, flowers and waters around her various homes in Central Ohio. Like all experience, her writing took the form of images speckled with vivid colors.
In the mid-1970s Kay enrolled in a Creative Writing course at the Ohio State University; at about the same time she was introduced to a group of similarly-minded women who formed the Women’s Poetry Workshop. The WPW was where Kay enjoyed the most—like-minded—camaraderie. The women of the WPW became her best friends and mentors, jointly honing their skills yet always having fun doing it. There Kay felt most at ease expressing and sharing her innermost feelings; it was there that she received her greatest encouragement.
