Lisa Benton drives to Phoenix to clear her mind after a deadly skirmish in San Diego County with her nemeses, Oceanside Homicide Detectives Derrick Miller and Sylvie Stevens, partners and lovers. Able to quietly escape after shooting and killing Derrick in self-defense, Lisa hopes a change of scenery in the desert will help her relax and regain her perspective on life. But her peaceful stay is interrupted after stumbling upon a sex-trafficking ring in one of Phoenix's suburbs. Debating whether to inject herself in the illegal and dangerous world of sex trafficking, Lisa opts to surreptitiously enter the mix and engage with the pimps and prostitutes to ultimately mete out justice on the perpetrators. Finding the ringleader is her immediate goal but she still yearns to exact justice on her brother, Tim back in LA. Believing revenge is the only answer to attaining peace of mind for all the years of sexual abuse he perpetrated on her as a youth, Lisa returns to California, but not before fortuitously encountering a runaway boy along the way. Wanting to protect the frightened youth, whose mother was just killed while they were on vacation in the Coachella Valley, Lisa promises to take him back to LA, where he'd previously lived and where a forever family awaits him. Distraction seems to be Lisa's fate these past few days and nothing she has planned has gone according to her script; yet she perseveres. Will Lisa finally realize her long-time goal of meting out revenge on her brother? Or will her chance meeting with the sweet boy change her life forever?
