Evernight

This book was my introduction to the world of the Kindred and I was able to follow the story fairly well. This is the fourth book in this series but can be read as a stand-alone. I found the characters fascinating and the storyline engaging. The backstory is briefly explained in snippets throughout the book allowing readers to understand the history of the series. Donna Grant has created another fantastic world that begs to be explored. Well written.

EVERNIGHT is the fourth full-length instalment in Donna Grant's adult THE KINDRED paranormal, fantasy series set in the mythological world of magic, witches and warlocks, hunters and the Gira. On a personal journey to avenge the deaths of the couple who raised her like their own, Synne , trained as a Hunter to hunt and kill the members of the Coven and their powerful leader Sybbyl, will come face to face with Lachlan MacCullum, the man with whom Synne will fall in love. In an effort to cross the MacCullum clan lands, Lachlan and Synne will journey together while discovering a few truths alone the way. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Synne and Lachlan, as Synne will cross paths with her past revealing the secret of her own magical powers.

EVERNIGHT ( and the Kindred Series) is an infinitely detailed story line. Donna Grant weaves an intricate world of magic, vengeance, power and control with enchanted creatures including the nymph like tree creatures known as the Gira, and the Varroki, a group of witches and warlocks who have battled the Coven since the First Witch died. Anyone possessing the bones of the First Witch will be granted immense power, and with that information Sybbyl goes in search, destroying anyone who tries to deter her mission.

Donna Grant pulls the reader into a fascinating and captivating tale of one woman’s journey of revenge and retribution against the Coven and anyone who is willing to stand in her way. The premise is engaging and intriguing; the romance is passionate; the characters are numerous, energetic and magical.
