She thinks she’s fooled me. But I’ve known all along.

Lily is hiding something, a secret so big, she came out of a year-long coma and her first instinct was to lie.

Who does that? Someone who is afraid. No—not afraid.

Terrified. And it’s my job to take that fear away.

My partner and I have spent countless man-hours hunting down the cold-blooded killer who did this to her. Meanwhile, Lily’s spent her waking hours recovering. Getting stronger. Getting smarter.

Staying beautiful.

Never get involved emotionally. That’s my dictate. Never get attached.

When you realize you’re caught in a triangle, it turns out there is no exit.

Crossing a line is easy. Holding a line takes strength.

Lily’s shooter knows that she’s my weakness.

And he’s about to exploit that by breaking a line and escaping, claiming a hostage in the process.

One I have to get back.

No matter what it takes.

"False Hope" (False 2) by Meli Raine

A fabulous and exciting continuation of book 1.

Lily and Duff!

The second story in the trilogy starts where False Memory left us hanging. In this installment we get Duff’s POV and it great to see his perspective of the situation and their relationship.

This twisty tale clears up some of the mysteries however every answer seems to raise another question so you are left wondering what could possibly be coming next.

The relationship between Lily and Duff begins to heat up as well as the suspense. It all climaxes into a cliffhanger that leaves us wanting False Start now. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

There are so many layers of secrets

This is an author who is amazingly good at leaving me speechless. I don’t even know where to start with book, and how to say anything without giving away big spoilers. I guess, maybe, I start with my favorite part of this story: I adore that it’s told from Duff’s point of view. We get to be up close and personal with how he thinks and feels – especially since he’s been so good at the emotionless façade for as long as we’ve known him. There are so many layers of secrets and conspiracies and counter-plots. Every time one is peeled away, it’s only to discover that there’s so much more going on behind it. And the tangled family trees just keep getting more and more complex. I can’t wait to see how this series ends.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
