Another beautiful, completely emotional, Carter Hills story. Wow!
I’ve read everything Emmanuelle Snow has published, and this has to be one of the hardest hitting emotionally (although Riley and Devon’s story is pretty tragically emotional in a different way).
Carter’s story told from a different point in his timeline - before Pink and Country - gives us such a new perspective on exactly the emotional turmoil he experienced in his years loving Dahlia while trying to have a normal relationship with Savannah Prince.
We already know from Pink and Country that Savannah had done quite a number on him emotionally and she was slandering his name in the press. Now we get to see it happening in real time, and her descent into her mental health issues first-hand and from both points of view.
What a wild ride! Very emotional for many reasons. I definitely, very highly recommend picking this one up, and suggest it would be a better experience with the backstories of Pink and Country and the Second Tear duet first. This comes slightly before Pink, and mostly after Second Tear in the timeline, but best read in this order.
