Familiar Territory

Sela Glaser has been an initiated witch for a few months now. But the perks of having powers are not proving as helpful as she’d hoped. If anything, Sela’s life has gained a whole new set of complications, and this witch needs a break now more than ever.

Life as part of the magickal community is exciting, and Sela is making all sorts of witch and familiar friends. Even so, she still hasn’t got a handle on her hustle, running from job to job just to make ends meet. As if that weren’t exhausting enough, Sela is increasingly unable to sleep through the night, something her familiar Sable suspects is tied to her magick. Their coven isn’t coming together as well as Sela and Sable had hoped, either.

As resident covenmaker, Sela takes it upon herself to get everyone a little more connected. But during a coven-bonding trip in the neighboring city, local familiars suddenly begin to vanish and the witch community goes on high alert. Sela’s own magick seems to be tied to the disappearances, though no one seems to know why or how. When she finally returns from her trip, Sela learns that the threat she thought she left back in the city might strike much closer to home than she’s prepared for.

This witch is burned out beyond belief, and between the mysterious disappearances, her magick on the fritz, and relationship drama the likes of which she never saw coming, Sela is going to need the help of every witch and familiar she knows if she’s going to make it through the winter with her magick and her nerves intact.
