Fear the Day

In this debut novel, when scientist Lyle Darmouth, is taken up the road to a bar known as the Arbor Mountain Tavern, he never could have guessed the horrors that were to come. The trip is a nightmare, and the roller coaster begins, altering both Lyle's, and his friends Rickie Tamworth's lives forever. Pushed around for much of his life, he ultimately stands up to the world in the most brutal way. Haunted by the memories of it, Lyle tries to internalize his feelings, but his mind cannot handle the enormity of such a crime. Rickie suggests Lyle should see a priest to discuss the event, and try to receive some psychological help. He receives good advice, and feels better afterwards. But the talk becomes a catalyst toward a scientific breakthrough. Lyle creates a drug that asks the ultimate question, "Would you want to know your exact time of death " On your sixteenth birthday, your phone will ring and the one injected has a choice: pick it up and test fate, or ignore it and let it ring.
