Edge of your seat book!
My first read by author Scarlett Cole & I loved it. I couldn’t put it down. The drama & suspense was amazing, as was the strength of the characters. The storyline seemed to be connected to the previous book but I had no problem following it. I was impressed with the authors descriptive narrative both internally & externally. She did a wonderful job on the back history of the main characters & the lead up to their story. I found myself rooting for Mac constantly & couldn’t believe how strong & resilient that Delaney was. I definitely want to read the first book in this series & look forward to more. Definitely recommend. I voluntarily reviewed this book.
The perfect Romantic Suspense story!
Scarlett Cole has once again delivered a riveting and emotional second chance romance! Romantic Suspense is my genre, and as much as I loved the first book in this series, Mac and Delaney’s story just floored me.
There was so much heartache between the pair. Such devastation. And after being separated for years due to a tragedy that destroyed them both, fate decided time was up for this pair.
The minute Mac gets a call saying Delaney was in danger, he didn’t hesitate. He went to her. And deep down she needs him too. But their reunion isn’t smooth sailing. They have to deal with their hurtful past, if they intend to have a future together.
Then add into the mix that someone’s out to get Delaney for the story she’s writing. Regardless of the fact that he’s an ex-Navy Seal, he would lay down his life for the woman he loves.
This books has it all: Action, Suspense, romance, angst. It’s a fast paced read that leaves you wanting more.
Suspenseful second chance romance
Mac and Delaney were teenage lovers until Delaney blamed Mac for her brother`s death (who was Mac`s best friend). Mac has spent his life in the military ... the dream that his best friend had of becoming a SEAL, Mac fulfilled for him. After 15 years apart, Mac gets a call that Delaney needs him and he doesn`t hesitate getting the on the next available plane to be by her side. The sparks are still there between them, even if Delaney doesn`t want to admit it. Mac will do everything in his power to protect Delaney from the danger she has gotten herself into and to try and make it up to her for causing her brother`s death.
In this second chance love story you will be drawn into the world of gun smuggling and drugs. And as you turn the pages, you will keep wondering what will happen next. The chemistry between Mac and Delaney can`t be denied even though she fights it every step of the way. There were times I just wanted to shake her and tell her to let him explain what happened that fateful day on the cliff.
