Finding a Way Home

Confirmation of Candidature

Publisher Description

The project, by experimenting with various forms of nonfiction writing, will help address a gap in the field about the distinct characteristics of nonfiction writing, and how the position from which it is written, influences form.

News stories about surrogacy and reproductive technologies, and recent calls to streamline the adoption of foster children, are common daily topics in Australia (Alexander 2015; Allan 2014; Needham 2015).  The significance of this research therefore is to contribute a fundamentally different position to a field largely dominated by pro-adoption, surrogacy and ART advocates.
