A very well written story of family dynamics
I was not expecting such an emotional impact from this story but what the main character, Sam (Samantha) experiences from her cold and emotionally distanced mother obviously hit a nerve. I thought how the author describes what Sam feels and is subjected to by many members of her family was very well written. Sam does find a lot happiness at the end of the book but as in life nothing is straight forward.
I highly recommend this story and unusually for me I will be reading the series. Tissues (Kleenex) in hand!
Finding love at Hedgehog Hollow
Loved this book……so relatable to my life, especially as a home care RN, and yes, there are some real stinkers who are totally toxic people in this world. The author is not exaggerating, and writes of complex human dynamics in in a very real way. You could almost use this wonderful book as a guide on dealing with harmful personality disorders. She captures the characters struggles, compassion, and support system with startling reality, as dealing with people you love who inflict their issues on others can be so difficult to cope with. I loved how she grew in strength with her relationships and finding a passion in her life that she resonated with and made her realize that she deserved and earned happiness. Unusual author, with tremendous insight into the human condition! Five stars , for sure!
