An all new flirty, lighthearted, standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg guaranteed to make you swoon.
Blakely Foxx is having one of those years.
Her divorce may have been finalized a few months ago, but her ex is already engaged to someone half her age. Her younger boss is determined to sabotage her chance at getting the promotion she rightly deserves. And to make matters worse, she’s closing in on the big 4-0. There isn’t enough wine or ice cream in the world to convince her things will turn around.
When Blakely meets Slade Henderson, she’s left wondering why an early-thirties, hotter than hell, cardiothoracic surgeon would take an interest in her.
She’s been warned that he’ll break her heart, but she’s willing to take the chance. Not only is he helping her get that promotion, but in the process, he’s encouraging her to find the parts of herself she’s lost over the past few years.
Slade shows her that good guys really do exist, but who knew the hardest part about turning forty would be realizing the man you thought was a rebound, is actually your happily ever after?

Flirting with 40
Couldn’t put it down. Great read ✅
Best book about regaining faith in love and being faithful to yourself
I read this book all at once since I wasn’t able to stop, a true contemporary romance which have all to be your best book for a long while. Hopefully you’ll try it and will be as smitten than me with the crew and the great story!
Fun and Flirty
When I read the blurb for Flirting with 40 I knew I immediately needed to read it. K. Bromberg never disappoints with her writing. I knew I would get some humor and heat but wow I didn’t anticipate the level of emotion, heart and feels this one gave me. Don’t get me wrong it is light, funny, flirty and sexy but it is so much more than that too. I was blown away. I devoured this in one sitting and would but this at the top of my favourite reads of 2020.
Blakely is a beautiful, smart divorcée. She is trying to get a promotion at work and is dealing with a younger boss that seems to have it out for her. Blakely has some self confidence issues given her age (almost 40) she seems to have lost her way and her confidence in herself since the end of her marriage.
Slade is a younger man. 31 years old. He is a cardiac surgeon on somewhat of a sabbatical. Slade was just what Blakely needed at the right time in her life. I loved his confidence and take charge attitude. He is gorgeous and full of charm.
Slade and Blakely meet in a bar and sparks were evident immediately. I loved their banter with each other and I was instantly enamoured with their connection and couldn’t wait to see how their story would develop.
After a bout of cold feet and a not so nice comment from another woman at the bar Blakely ends up leaving a fake number and Slade is not happy. He wants to get to know her so when he runs into her again he pretends to be her boyfriend in front of her ex and her new girlfriend. He later convinced her to bring him along to a work retreat and have him pose as her fake boyfriend. Although the plan was for him to be her fake boyfriend it never felt like that from the start. Slade was the most perfect man. He has so much passion for Blakely and wants to see her gain her confidence back and go after the things she wants in life. I loved his encouragement towards her.
“Do you want to know what I see when I look at you? That bathing suit you argued over putting on yesterday because you thought you were fat or looked bad or whatever the hell reason you had? You put it on and looked in the mirror and cringed. You want to know what I saw? I saw your curves. The ones I want to map one by one with my hands. They’re sexy and beautiful and I don’t see the lines around your eyes that you crack jokes about. I see evidence of laughing and living, and damn it, I want to know the story behind each and every one of them. You’re so damn hung up on your age, Blakely, but when I look at you? I just see you.”
There were some terrific side characters in this story but the one I adored most was Blakely’s bestie Kelsie. She was such a pivotal character. She is encouraging and gave the best advice to Blakely at the exact moments she needed it.
This book checks ALL the boxes and is a must read for all romance readers out there. I guarantee if you pick this up you will not be disappointed nor be able to put it down from beginning to end.
