Russell Dean arrives in Westchester, England on a short-term transfer from Perth Australia, where his own reputation for breaking peadophile rings lies in tatters. He soon finds himself at the centre of two cases; one a child goes missing at a local fair; the other an unresolved child murder of ten years previously. What is the connection if any? As he sets out to find the missing child and fearing the worst, he begins to unravel a set of secrets which stretch right into the heart of the police force itself. He is convinced that Lara, the mother of the latest victim has played no part in the child's disappearance but the evidence begins to point otherwise.
