Friends In the Dark

Max Allen had no idea why he showed up at her door that night. It had to be because he knew she had gone through the same tragedy in her young life. He knew her through friends though they had warned him not go talk to her. He never understood why though. that was until he did actually talk to her.
Katie Kline had moved to the area a year or so before. She had made friends with a few people in her neighborhood who also worked int he same field as her. That was a rarity in itself, but she was happy with her lot in life for the most part. Though she knew the woman she was friends with seemed more inclined to favor the other people that were at her get togethers Katie didn't mind. She was used to being the one on the sidelines. that seemed to eb the story of her life.
The night he showed up at her doorstep she knew that he was different than what she had been told. He seemed to feel the same way about her. Though he knew he was really in no shape to judge someone who had not only opened her house to him in his time of need. She stepped up and helped his entire family. She stepped into a role of the person who had died in many ways.
Max knew of his family's curse. The men knew almost instantly when they had met the ones they were supposed to be with. He felt that lightning bolt as he looked at her. Now he had to go through the worst time in his life and make her see everything he wanted with her was real. He coudl have everything he ever wanted becasue he made friends in the dark.
