From Me to You

Karolyn and her husband, Ernest Jennings met in 1981 through a writers club. Throughout the years they became best friends who shared their lives through letters and poetry. Often writing poems together by mailing the same poem back and forth across the country until they were both satisfied with the finished result. Ernest vowed that one day he would marry me and I just laughed.

Ernest moved to Detroit after overcoming some minor obstacles they married on September 23, 2000. He called her his ‘angel’ and he was her ‘Nitro.’ They shared their poetry, laughter, lean times, tears and good times together until February 18, 2015 when Ernest’s heart gave out.
