Can u imagine requiring fifty 10 year-olds 2 use cell phones in school?
This is the case at West Side Elementary school where a new grant brings a requirement for all fifth graders to use cell phones for class assignments as part of a pilot-program. With all the excitement of being armed with the latest technology students find out on the first day that they have lost the Art Academy grant. This puts them into overdrive to find solutions to save the AA.
As the main characters struggle with the thought of losing their favorite after school program, the texts start flying and a student body gathers at Sanders Park to find a solution. The characters work to incorporate their new cell phones into an assignment to raise the $1200 needed for the Art Academy Program.
Along the way, relationships between the six characters evolve and humor prevails as they work together.
