Tracy June Leonard never brings Gemini outside. When sex work is legalized in Ontario, Tracy used her alter ego to imagine what it would be like to work at Rosado House, a high-end brothel in Toronto's Parkdale neighbourhood. Two years after creating Gemini, and Tracy's hold on her alter ego isn't as strong as it used to be.
Unemployed and with EI benefits dwindling, Tracy goes to great lengths to find another job she will hate within a month. There are the lies she tells her friends, the ways she pretends to be a certain type of person for acceptance. And the fractured relationship with her mother, who refuses to leave an abusive husband.
Gemini screams the truths Tracy is too timid to say. She doesn't care where Tracy is, what she's doing or who is in the room. Gemini is loudest at all the wrong times, especially when the stakes are highest and Tracy is telling her most elaborate lies. In other words, at job interviews.
The final fight happens and they decide: It's time to get the love, community, the money, and the life Tracy wants. It's time to bring Gemini to life.
