Reading and writing are among the most important things a person can learn to do, and a crucial part of child-development. They are the skills that help us make sense of the world. The more we write, the better we understand ourselves as individuals. The more we read, the better we relate to the rest of society and the more human we become. Children will realize this on their own if they are exposed to books and language and if they’re equipped with some fundamental skills.
