As Lorvena begins the year-long celebrations for the 300th Anniversary, King Richard and Queen Ann have announced they will abdicate the throne in favor of their eldest son. Crown Prince Edward's coronation will be two weeks before the country's annual ball. Is the Crown Prince ready for the throne? And who is the American attending every engagement with the prince?

Crown Prince Edward knew he would one day rule, but he never thought it would be so soon. As he steps up and takes a more active role in the government, questions mount. With his people questioning his readiness and members of Parliament not accepting his direction for the future, his mother enlists outside help in the form of an American photographer.

Owner of Ever After Photography, Gisella Smith, is shocked to hear a queen offering her a job. It's not just any job, but documenting in photos the 300th Anniversary of Lorvena as well as the coronation of a new king. She'd never even heard of the country until now. Hiding behind her camera, Gisella sees the man beneath the crown, and it's through Gisella's photos that the people begin to see their Crown Prince as a man ready to be king.

Three months of social engagements lead Edward and Gisella to spend more time together within the palace walls. Each engagement draws them closer. As Edward prepares for the crown, will Gisella risk staying? Or will this Cinderella take the king's heart instead of leaving her shoe?
