Goethean Holistic Science; Everyday We Use Three Simple Orders of Sciences; The New Science Paradigm Intuitive Feelers and Thinkers Can Agree On

The word "science" is an abstraction. What's real in science? Objectivity. Objectivity is not monolithic—neither is science. How so?

THREE Orders of Objectivity exist:
First Order Objectivity acknowledges the value, validity and benefits of subjective perception, evaluation and intelligence. Subjective objectivity is valid in the domain of single individuals, one person at a time; where, individual choosing is honored, "For me now, is X true, beneficial and valuable?" Or, for me now is X NOT true, nor beneficial?" For this reason, First Order Science is the natural domain of Psychology and physical health-healing.

Second Order Objectivity is: 2 + 2 = 4, words and symbolic languages, logic; and, provable facts not influenced by tradition, subjective or ethical-moral considerations. Second Order Science is the natural domain of all modern technology,

Third Order Objectivity is the domain of ethics, morals and values. These exist both in individual and in group process. "What is safe, possible, permitted and allowed now--for the highest good of all concerned?" "What is workable and beneficial for the next seven generations?"  "Have the needs and concerns of all stakeholders been considered?" This is the natural domain of laws and consensus processes.

Values, morals and ethics exist invisibly, objective only in the consensus of a specific group of people, at a specific time and place. These are are highly relevant to healthy group process between two or more persons living or working together.  Parents of one or more children use Third Order Science daily to make the best choices and decisions to benefit the entire family.  A lesser want sometimes must be sacrificed for a greater collective need.

The religion of corporate-consumerism neglects, dismisses, suppresses and represses both First and Third Domains of Objectivity and science.

For wakeful adults these Three Orders are our main problem solving tools.

First and Third Orders as boundaries-guardrails for technology

First and Third Orders of Science provide the natural, healthy "boundary guardrails" for modern technology. To keep technology resonant with subjective objectivity; and, the objectivity of human ethics, morals and values, First and Third Orders of Science must be recognized as the natural safeguards for technology. This is the only way to prevent more Dr. Frankenstein creations.

In the language of Best Practices in Healthy Group Process, Third Order Science provides a "container of values-morals-ethics" for technology. In this way, First and Third Orders of objectivity prevent the Heinz-57-varieties of Frankenstein monsters spewing out of technology divorced from harm to individuals and harm to our collective healthy ethics and morals.

Q: What about the foolishness of isolated, excessive subjective creativity?

A: Second and Third Order Science are needed to moderate and modulate the excesses of First Order Science (lies, foolishness, fooling yourself, evidence-free conspiracy theories, et al). 

Virtually unacknowledged, the validity of Three Orders of Science has been field-tested since 1919 in two large areas:
- Waldorf-methods K-12 education; and
- Holistic methods of healthcare.

These two fields were already practicing GHS; we simply did not recognize this. Prior to 2014, these two fields suffered from the joke, "It works in practice; it simply doesn't work in theory."
