About the Author
Janet Zappala is an Emmy award-winning journalist, and award-winning children's author. Janet is also an avid animal lover and volunteers at a horse rescue in Southern California. That's where she discovered Guapo, one of the world's largest steers at over 3-thousand pounds, and 11 feet wide! Guapo is a gentle giant, a goodwill ambassador who through his experiences teaches children important life lessons about being kind. Janet's books also educate children about animal rescue, with part of the book's proceeds going to rescues in California and Arizona. Janet loves kids, and writing children's books allows her to spend quality time with families, sharing important life messages, and encouraging children's literacy.
Wendy Perkins adores stories. Reading, watching, listening to, and conjuring them. As a staff writer for the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, she shared stories that sparked understanding and appreciation of wildlife.
