Sparks fly when two feuding TV presenters are thrown together to host a live morning show in Lucy Parker’s latest enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance.
“A superb contemporary romance. Parker’s readers, new and returning, are sure to find this one hard to put down.” —Publishers Weekly, starred review
He might be the sexiest man in London, according to his fan site (which he definitely writes himself), but he’s also the most arrogant man she’s ever met.
She might have the longest legs he’s ever seen, but she also has the sharpest tongue.
For years, rival TV presenters Sabrina Carlton and Nick Davenport have traded barbs on their respective shows. The public can’t get enough of their feud, but after Nick airs Sabrina’s family scandals to all of Britain, the gloves are off. They can barely be in the same room together—but these longtime enemies are about to become the unlikeliest of cohosts.
With their reputations on the rocks, Sabrina and Nick have one last chance to save their careers. If they can resurrect a sinking morning show, they’ll still have a future in television. But with ratings at an all-time low and a Christmas Eve deadline to win back the nation’s favor, the clock is ticking—and someone on their staff doesn’t want them to succeed.
Small mishaps on set start adding up, and Sabrina and Nick find themselves—quelle horreur—working together to hunt down the saboteur…and discovering they might have more in common than they thought. When a fiery encounter is caught on camera, the public is convinced that the reluctant cohosts are secretly lusting after one another.
The public might not be wrong.
Their chemistry has always been explosive, but with hate turning to love, the stakes are rising and everything is on the line. Neither is sure if they can trust these new feelings…or if they’ll still have a job in the New Year.

Book 2: Pretty Face
Book 3: Making Up
Book 4: The Austen Playbook
Book 5: Headliners
The real action is behind the scenes in Parker's cute fifth London Celebrities show business romance (after The Austen Playbook). When footage of TV newscaster Nick Davenport bad-mouthing his boss goes viral, he loses his prime time slot and is forced to cohost a floundering morning show with his rival, razor-tongued Sabrina Carlton. Sabrina is still reeling from Nick breaking the story of a humiliating Carlton family scandal, but her hatred of him must take a backseat to her career goals. Both determined to rehabilitate their images, they paste on TV smiles and play nice, leading them to discover that they actually like each other. When a series of unexplained mishaps occur on set, Nick and Sabrina realize that someone is sabotaging them, and a drunken hookup at an industry wedding leads to public speculation about their relationship and paparazzi tailing their every move. Nick and Sabrina support each other through accidents and scandal that range from hilarious to dangerous. The couple's transition from contention to contentment as they learn to love each other is smooth and believable. Romance fans will root for this sweet, saucy relationship.
Sparkling Enemies to Lovers
Headliners by Lucy Parker is the fifth book in her entertaining London Celebrities series. I would suggest at a minimum read book four, The Austen Playbook before reading this one because events happen in that book that have a bearing on this one. After a family scandal tarnishes Sabrina Carlton’s prospects as a television presenter, she is dismayed to find out that she’s been transferred to a morning/breakfast show and her co-host is none other than her nemesis Nick Davenport, and they’re only there on trial, make it work or out. Nick’s career is also in jeopardy after he was caught on camera, loudly trashing the owner of the network and having to work with Sabrina is just the icing on the cake. Trying salvage their respective careers while battling rumours that they’re really a couple and dealing with a saboteur on set makes for delightful enemies to lovers story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. Medium Steam.
