Emily Robinson is a Pet, owned by a man, X, with no real name. With the job as his pet she'd expected a life of leisure and boredom. Considering her owner has enemies that consider her a tool, she missed on the leisure. They nearly killed her. Awakening in Hospital, pain was all she knew. It took a voice in her head to get her back on her feet and away. The pain didn't stop. Emily had to heal herself. Every and any touch or movement was pain. Though she suffered, she could not endure the pain it caused her owner or her lover. She had to fix it. As the product of a defunct breeding program by the Whole World Church, Emily was diff.
Being diff wasn't simply a matter of seeing in near darkness or communicating with mutant animals, nor was it the voice in her head... she was more.
Life had grown complicated. Mr. X had to disappear before those spying on him made another incursion. Theodore, her snake friend, had to vanish as the PeaceKeepers wanted to destroy the poisonous mutant. The Rene, Renegade, were growing ever more involved in her life. The voice in her head wasn't imagination but had a plan involving her and Mr. X. Of all who filled her life only Shelby, her lover, made no demands. Of all who filled her life it was Shelby who would be hurt most by the plans unfolding. Emily had to disappear with Mr. X, she belonged to him. She would have to leave Shelby behind... which would wound them both. Even if she managed to heal herself there was no guarantee that it would solve anything. The PK had no clue who hunted Mr. X. The Rene suspected the worst of who targeted him.
If a Ruler from the WWC did exist would their future be safe anywhere? Could Emily believe the voice in her head? Would Theodore find more of his family and escape the PK? Would Emily and Shelby have any time together? What was the real reason Mr. X bought Emily as a Pet?
Emily's tale is set in an Alternate future. There are elements of eroticism, lesbian love, science fiction and mystery. Mostly it's an adventure.
