Heartsease

Heartsease also known as Violet is the young daughter of a proud solicitor who married an immature and thoughtless young officer, without the knowledge and approval of his aristocratic family. This family consists of Lord and Lady Martindale, Arthur's parents and Mrs Nesbit, his mother's aunt, who dominates her niece and has a fortune which she holds over the head of the family.
