Abby O'Connell had a bad life growing up. She worked her way out and found a life that was good. She dated some, went out some, but didn't drink or party. She saw first-hand how that kind of life could end up in a bad situation. She wasn't going there. She moved to Hope for a new chance on life with no intentions of finding anyone to fulfill her future, until she met him.

Dane Mitchell was a big bad Navy SEAL. He didn't date, he didn't go out much, he just worked. He grew up in a law enforcement family and was expected to follow that career path until something forced him to choose a different life. Then he moved to Hope and met her.
