When Jess Brown learns that her mother is ill, she leaves a major market radio career to care for her. She returns to the airwaves of her hometown radio station, which operates more on duct tape and spirit than actual technology. Jess and her father, a country veterinarian, share a love for needy animals that is far larger than the barn—or budget—required to keep them. She longs to return to civilized radio, and vows to do so as soon as she finds a home for every last animal friend.
