Jewel Fitzgerald loved to ride. Or she used to, at least. She also used to be confident. What happened to that person? Where did she go? Unfortunately, that confident horse rider disappeared into her marriage, a sham that left Jewel with a divorce, a newfound fear of horses, and no confidenceat all.

When Jewels friend, Angel, presents her with a horse, Jewel isnt sure she has the old spirit anymore. She meets Hudsonthe horse she now calls her ownand shes terrified. But that soft brush in her hand, running over Hudsons back, feels strangely familiar and comforting. Maybe she could be rider again. Maybe she could be a lot of things again.

Horse Power is one womans journey back to herself following years of alienation. She is starting over after having her spirit completely demolished, but even her empty apartment doesnt feel so lonely after a day of riding.
