A young reporter for a radio station sits down for an interview with an old woman and is carried into the latter's past – a past perhaps best left alone where it was. Brief visions of a young woman's dreams, hopes, aspirations, wishes to launch herself out near-poverty into something better as she faces life in a housing complex in turn-of-the-century Male, Maldives catch the reporter unawares. Glimpses of innocence turning into an ill-defined something-else are turned on and off.

Perhaps this was one aspect of life in a modern Maldives of the early twenty first century. Perhaps it is not
