Publisher Description
My name is Synthia Rowley, and so far I really suck at saving the world.
I'm a latent shifter, a human that randomly became a hyena Queen. Crazy, right? You have no idea. When I turned twenty-five some magical chastity belt that had been completely blocking my sex drive snapped. One minute I was the ultimate shy science dork, the next I had curves that kill and a libido that won't quit.
Good thing, 'cause I'm supposed to have four husbands.
Yep, four. I'm destined to marry them all and they were all born to love me and only me. My own little harem. Here comes the really insane part. My husbands? The four men that I'll be mated to for the rest of my life? They were born female and my pheromones will turn them into men. You heard me right, my hyena Queen pheromones will literally change my mates from women, into hulked out sexy studs. But if I don't find and transform my mates, and soon, my world and everyone in it will be slaughtered by demons from a different dimension.
Good times.
Author's Note; This book is for readers with an open heart and mind, and is the first in an ongoing series. No cliffy, but a HFN ending.

Hyena Queen
Could not put down until it was all read!!
This Book Surprised Me!
*Possible spoilers ahead*
As soon as I realized what this book would be about, and how unconventional it was, I didn’t know how I would feel about it. This book takes a different approach than what I was expecting on transgender identity. Obviously, there is nothing wrong with that, and it is nice to see an author “talking” about this stuff in a novel, but I wasn’t sure how Ann Mayburn was going to go about it and that is what made me unsure. I am not trans, so I cannot speak for that community, clearly, but i found it very refreshing. I actually truly really enjoyed this book, and I am incredibly happy that I read it the day before the second book was released, because I am so impatient when it comes to books in a series being released! It definitely takes time to write, approve, edit, etc. a book before it is approved and published, but man - when I love a book/series, waiting is the worst thing! As the author says in the beginning of the novel, have an open heart and mind before reading, because you probably won’t enjoy it if you don’t.
For writhing style, as long as you love the style that the author has, you’re good. I’ve read some of Ann’s novels previously, actually I believe I have read all of them, and I normally read third person novels, but greatly enjoyed her work.
I don’t normally (ever) leave reviews, but knowing that most might disregard this book after realizing what this novel entails might push it aside, and not bother continuing, but i really really reallllyyyy enjoyed this book!
Ann, if you see this, keep up the great work! And hey, if you ever need another beta reader or something, I won’t say no!
