Martha is definitely the happiest bunny in the Happy Bunny Club, but there's also Monty, who's mad about robots, spaceships and dinosaurs and is always full of beans, Pip (he's the baby of the family) and Paws, the puppy who is by far the naughtiest!

A few very important things you should know about Martha: her favourite colour is yellow, she loves trampolining and her starry sunglasses (because she likes to see the world all rosy!) but her yellow-and-blue-and-orange-and-white stripy wellies are what she loves best.

The big news in Martha's first Happy Bunnies adventure is that's it's her first day of school! It's all so exciting! She needs to choose the perfect first-day-at-school outfit and decide what to pack in her new school bag, which is proving quite tricky…

Trouble is, she may be able to take her snowglobe and her fairy wings and her scooter and her picture of 'What I did on my holidays', but there are two not-so-happy little bunnies and a not-so-happy naughty puppy she has to leave behind…

But Martha finds room in her school bag for a very special picture that the Happy Bunny Club has made especially for her, and it's not long before she's back from school and the Happy Bunnies are reunited (in their secret den)! Hooray!

About the author

Clara Vulliamy was born in London and studied at Chelsea School of Art, The Ruskin and the Royal Academy. She is the daughter of the celebrated author-illustrator Shirley Hughes and began illustrating picture books when she had her own children. She has since written and illustrated many stories, sometimes collaborating with her mother. She lives in Twickenham, with her husband and their daughters, Leah and Martha.
