Publisher Description

A photo guide tour of some of the main sights of the WW1 Western Front in France and Belgium. Places visited include Ypres, Passchendaele, Arras and Albert as well as the Somme battlefields including trenches, bunkers and craters as well as a number of memorials and cemeteries in the area. This book is not a professional photographic book but a collection of my personal photos of the area on numerous visits both for research and pleasure. The photos concentrate on the British, Commonwealth and German points of interest.

In The Footsteps of Heroes is written and photographed by Stephen Liddell who not only runs private guided tours to the region through his Ye Olde England Tours company but who has a Masters Degree in History and Politics from London University. Stephen is also the author of the acclaimed WW1 history book Lest We Forget - A Concise Companion To The First World War published by Endeavour Press of London.
