Pure sweetness - like fine chocolate ;)
A delightful, heart-warming, uplifting and laugh-out-loud funny read. Perfect antidote to (gestures wildly at 2026)! The story was so engaging that I was at 49% before I even checked how much I had read. I was sure it was only 25% because I had totally lost track of time. Don't start reading in the evening or you will be up late!! :)
I love the description of Finn in his glasses. Librarian jock is one of my most favorite MMC vibes! Finn is adorable. He is such a great guy and so perfect for Emily. He has a very unfortunate injury that keeps him off the field. So, while he is a football player, most of the book is not about football, it's about his recovery and their lives away from sport.
I absolutely loved Emily's boss babe move! That was amazing! She followed her own morals, took control of her life, and forged a path for the folks who wanted to follow her.
The drama around her brother Elliott learning of her relationship with Finn was in keeping with her force of nature personality. Elliott's concerns were respectfully addressed and he always treated her like she was a grown adult, not a child he had the right to boss around. I don't love controlling older brothers and he was definitely not controlling, only caring. Elliott, Finn and Emiliy had a long-standing history but it unfolded in a touching and heart-warming way.
Always love cameos from prior books and we do meet some of their friends. Lots of potential for more books/relationships. Will Angela and Elliott be the next one?? Something is up with those two - they both seem cagey about something.
