In the Lean Times: A Cozy Apocalypse Mystery
The world survived the apocalypse. Now spring has brought a murder.
Spring has finally arrived in Silverdale, bringing blossoms, warmer days, and a fragile sense of renewal to the isolated community.
Irene knows the plants growing in her garden can heal—or kill. But when a prisoner dies under suspicious circumstances and the evidence points directly at her, even her neighbors begin to wonder what she may be capable of.
Accused of murder and increasingly isolated, Irene must uncover who really killed the prisoner before suspicion becomes judgment. Her search leads through poisonous gardens, hidden resentments, and secrets taking root beneath Silverdale's peaceful surface.
With trust already in short supply, Irene will need her wits, her knowledge of plants, and the unlikely help of her flamboyant neighbor Hilda Jo to clear her name before the real killer strikes again.
Perfect for readers who enjoy:
• Mature female amateur sleuths
• Botanical mysteries and poisonous plants
• Small-town secrets and suspicious neighbors
• Dry humor and unlikely friendships
• Hopeful post-apocalyptic communities
Return to Silverdale in In the Lean Times, a warm, atmospheric cozy mystery where spring is blooming, evidence is growing, and some flowers are far more dangerous than they appear.

Another good whodunit!
This is the second book in the Times of Trouble series. It picks up shortly after the first book and takes us on another whodunit ride! All the characters from the first book are back along with a surprise character at the end. The author continues to build out her town and characters. I enjoyed the story and was left with a question I hope to see answered in the next book.
