Anthony R. Kovner, Ph.D., has served as senior program consultant to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Dr. Kovner is a member of the board of trustees of Lutheran Medical Center and Health Plus. Before joining NYU, he was chief executive officer of the Newcomb Hospital of Vineland, New Jersey, and senior health consultant to the United Auto Workers Union in Detroit, Michigan. He is the coauthor of Health Services Management and A Career Guide for the Health Services Manager (both published by Health Administration Press) and author of Healthcare Management in Mind: Eight Careers (published by Springer). Dr. Kovner earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Cornell University and his doctorate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. In 1999, Dr. Kovner was awarded the Gary L. Filerman Prize for Educational Leadership by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration.
