Publisher Description

In an igloo up in the Arctic Circle of North America, there lived Inuit and his two daughters, Nickwi and Lickwi. Like most Eskimos, Inuit was a hunter. He hunted seals and seabirds and sold their skin and meat in the town market. To do this, he often had to walk for miles through the snowy woods. Once, on his way back from town, Inuit was walking as fast as he could. The night was getting darker and darker, and he wished for his gun, because he knew that some of the bears in the woods had come out of their dens. He had seen their tracks when he went to town in the morning. Then Inuit came again into an open place, and there right in the middle of the road, he saw it – a big polar bear. It was standing up on its hind legs, looking at Inuit.
