It is what it is

In the Dark Forest, Maurice the Marmot has a friend. Her name is Fiona Flametail and she has a shiny coat of fur and grey eyes. Together they have crooks to catch, treasures to hide, wilderness to conquer and knees that need sticking plasters. But one day, everything is somehow different.


Maurice the Marmot is somehow different, too. At least this is what the juniper mice think. Along with most of the animals in the Dark Forest. They think Maurice might be a little bit crazy. They think that marmot just doesn’t understand good fortune!


Or maybe he does?


“It is what it is” is a children’s book inspired by an old zen tale, with beautiful scraperboard illustrations that have been shown in several exhibitions.
