It's for You Alone

Life appears to each of us through our senses. Each of us perceiving a reality that we believe everyone else sees the same. But do they? The effort to find unconditional love is among our greatest desires and pursuits. A love that has no strings, no demands, that is given freely, unhindered.

The story told in this book sparked when my doorbell rang and I opened the door to find myself gazing at a strikingly beautiful woman in a bright yellow dress. Her name is Donne. She came to my home to show me her automobile that was for sale. I liked the automobile, and I paid her for it. Then I gave her a ride home. During our casual conversation she mentioned what I can only describe as a divinely inspired description of the meaning of life. I was so amazed, that as I glanced at her I had a profound thought. I choose to love this woman.

Thus began a journey of discovery. I spent many hours listening to Donne, and from her words I created many poems, mostly haiku. Each day I listened and wrote, placing each poem on a decorative stationary. I would send them to her or meet and give them to her. Eventually I put the poems into book form. This process of communication helped develop an amazing relationship. Albeit not with the outcome I hoped for, but with a life well lived.

As a spiritual person, Soul if you will, and a special education teacher, I continue my quest of being of service to all of life. I seek each day to open my heart to unconditional love. I find much joy spending time with children, who teach me much more than I teach them. I have no regrets. Everything is as it should be.
