Publisher Description
In this captivating small-town romance, one perfect kiss is all it takes to change two people's lives forever.
Becca Thorpe has uprooted her life and escaped to the beach. Now's her chance to get away from city living, throw caution to the ocean winds, and live in the moment. Especially if the moment includes the deliciously sexy surfer she meets shortly after arriving in Lucky Harbor. Something about the dark intensity of Sam's eyes and the thrill she gets at his touch convinces her to stay awhile.
Boatbuilder and investment genius Sam Brody is a self-made man who knows how dangerous it can be to mix business and pleasure. But he can't resist offering Becca a job just to hear her laugh and have her near.
Yet, when her brother comes to town asking for help, will he tempt her back to her glamorous life in the city? Or do Sam and little Lucky Harbor have a chance to win Becca's heart?
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Shalvis's command of contemporary romance is once again on display in book 10 of her Lucky Harbor series (after Once in a Lifetime). Familiar characters make occasional appearances without dominating the story, and the books, set in Washington State, can be read in any order. Becca Thorpe arrives in charming Lucky Harbor with two suitcases and her keyboard; she's fleeing her dependent brother (who's a better concert pianist that she is) and looking for a new beginning. She lands a job scheduling outings for a charter boat company run by three hunky guys but one of the owners is Sam Brody, her onetime lover. Mixing business and pleasure is a no-no for Sam, but emotions don't always follow the rules. Sam also runs into family troubles when his ne'er-do-well dad shows up looking for another handout. Shalvis combines humor, sparkling repartee, believable characters, and highly sensual sex scenes to make this book work on every level.
Customer Reviews
Little disappointed!
I love Jill Shalvis. I think I've read almost all her books and I adore the Lucky Harbour series but this book just didn't do anything for me. I struggled at times to stay interested and I didn't really get into the two main characters. I hope the next one in this series is better.
