Ivanhoe - Unabridged Ivanhoe - Unabridged

Publisher Description

"Ivanhoe" by Sir Walter Scott is a historical novel set in 12th-century England during the reign of King Richard the Lionheart.

The story follows Wilfred of Ivanhoe, a disinherited Saxon knight who returns from the Crusades to reclaim his honor and love, Lady Rowena. Against a backdrop of tension between the Norman conquerors and the oppressed Saxons, Ivanhoe becomes entangled in chivalric tournaments, political intrigue, and acts of heroism. The novel features memorable characters such as the noble outlaw Robin Hood, the villainous Knight Templar Brian de Bois-Guilbert, and the courageous Rebecca, a Jewish healer who faces persecution.

Through vivid storytelling and rich historical detail, Scott explores themes of loyalty, justice, and reconciliation between divided peoples. Ivanhoe helped popularize the historical romance genre and remains a classic portrayal of medieval ideals and conflicts.

"Ivanhoe" is presented here in its original and unabridged format, complete with footnotes and a brief biography of the author.
