In this post-apocalyptic extreme horror book, we meet Reno, a rough-around-the-edges loner who harbors a secret love. Foraging for food one day, he is captured by a band of raiders. They take him back to their village and torture him, using him for their amusement as a mere piece of flesh: a Jester. Reno has no choice but to play along, just trying to survive and looking for any chance to escape.

Reno's community abandons him, but one man won't give up hope. Nasir, a village doctor who Reno has known since childhood, will stop at nothing to free Reno from his suffering. Nasir's efforts to rescue the captive go awry, however, and the two are trapped together in the Raider's settlement.
