A fantastic start to the Preload Series!
I first met Jordan Steele in The Purest Hook. The moment he was introduced, I instantly felt a pull toward him. As much as I loved Dred and Pixie, I couldn't help but wonder about him and what his story was.
Well Jordan Reclaimed tells that story. And Scarlett Cole has once again made me fall madly in love with a fictional character. But he isn't your average hero. He's endured horrible abuse and pain as a child, and now as a grown man he thinks he's unworthy of love, and most importantly that he's unable to love others.
But is he ever wrong. He loves so deeply. So freaking fiercely. It hits you square in the chest. You feel it bleeding through the pages as you see him with his bandmates, who are more like brothers regardless that they don't share blood. His interactions with young Petal, the daughter of the lead singer were so beautiful. Honestly, my ovaries exploded whenever those two were together. But nothing compared to the way he reacted to HIS Lexi. All it took was one chance encounter and he was hooked on the beautiful ballerina.
And Lexi, gosh I adored her. Her love for Jordan was equally as fierce as his for her. But the thing I loved the most was the fact that she never pitied him after she discovered his past. She never thought less of him. She was the support he so desperately needed, but didn't know he wanted. They were soulmates. She was the light to his dark.
And as with any other Scarlett Cole story, she manages to incorporate humor and good lord the sex scenes are hot enough to melt your kindle. The woman knows how to pull everything together so perfectly. Heartache, Love, Sexy Times, and Laughter, what more do you need?
Now I need Elliott's story...Sigh! The Preload Boys are going to kill me. In a fantastic way, of course. ;)
