Just to Get Married was the first novel of English actress, writer, journalist, feminist and suffragette Cicely Hamilton. Like her other works, this novel held strong convictions about feminism. Just to Get Married explored the idea that women often engaged in deceptive behavior solely to find a suitable man and marry him. Years after the novel was published, Just to Get Married was condensed into a play.
