Keeping Doo Wop Alive: One man's story of strength, stamina & survival is the story of International Entertainer, John Cheatdom, probably the only living singer who has had success in five different singing groups - The Troubadors, The Velours, The Fantastics, The Realistics and The Magic Platters. Having spent close to 70 years of his life performing throughout the world, in five different continents, John gives us a backstage pass into the gritty reality behind the glitz and glamour of the music industry.

Hailing from Brooklyn, John's professional music career began in 1953 when his group was originally formed as The Troubadors, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, New York. At the tender age of 18, John's first American tour was in 1956 with Ray Charles, The Moonglows and countless other groups. Having toured the world over the course of 70 years, John has witnessed pivotal historical and political events such as apartheid in South Africa, The Black Power Movement, Belfast Bombings and 'The British Invasion'.
