Kekoa's Dream: How the Mahina Came to Be

Experience the fascinating world of Kekoa, a “loco boy”, raised in the local culture unique to Hawaii’s island lifestyle.  “Kekoa’s Dream: How The Mahina (Moon) Came To Be”, follows a young boy’s Dream Huaka’i (journey) that teaches him the importance of caring for the Aina (land), Moana (ocean), Lewa (sky) and all na mea ola (living things) to sustain a beautiful, living Honua (Earth).  

“Kekoa’s Dream: How The Mahina (Moon) Came To Be”, is a modern Mo’olelo (story) for the young reader (8-12 years of age) or for parents who enjoy reading to their children.  Traditional Mo’olelo’s were passed on orally by Kupuna (elders) to teach, enlighten and inspire na keiki (children).  Mo’olelo’s brought people together to “talk story”, to enjoy each other’s company and helped to nurture the aloha (love) that family and friends share.  I hope that this modern Mo’olelo provides you the same opportunities.
