Akwen was a lone daughter to the king who ruled the kingdom of Kimboo, but she lost them in a terrible fire accident. She could not take over her father’s throne since she was a woman. Her uncle who succeeded her father adopted her as his own daughter but out of so much for her kept her away from men in the village and left her open for just a prince to marry.
However, none of the princes found interest in her, explaining why with age, her urge to feel like a woman drove her into the hands of the kingdom chief priest, Mbi.
