'Kodama Moon: Quest' is a fantasy novel for all ages with an equal balance of light and dark. Without doubt, 'Kodama Moon: Quest' will make your heart beat fast in anticipation and your belly sore with laughter...but not too sore.
The Ghillie Dhu live in a tree-town (Timbertown) on a moon made of wood called Kodama. Life would be idyllic for the Dhu if not for the fact it has been sixteen years since any have slept. It has been that long since the HoKo stole their magical music-bow: the instrument that sends the Ghillie Dhu to sleep.
We join Scout-Squad-Four as they are about to set off on their expedition to retrieve the bow: Ash - who follows in his departed father's footsteps as leader of a squad; Willow - the tomboy Dhu-girl who is filled to the brim with positivity and enthusiasm; Conker - the cheeky young brother of Willow; and Walnut - the handsome brains of the operation and secret object of Willow's desires. It is not long before the Scouts literally bump into Complaining Colin, the suicidal squirrel, and later, Jineeva, the wood-fairy.
Along the way, the Scouts encounter Kodama characters that are comical, inspirational, and horrific. The romance between Willow and Walnut blossoms, and the Scouts learn of the unspoken horrors of their past - namely Juniper, the most evil Ghillie Dhu ever to have lived.
