Byline: AKHTAR ALI Poverty is on the rise in Pakistan once again. Some 25-30 per cent Pakistanis live in abject poverty and hunger. It is not a small number. It is about 60 million people. Recent floods, and continuing recession and inflation may have furthered the prevalence of poverty and hunger. It is often argued that rising crime rate and deteriorating law and order situation and even the terrorism is directly or indirectly related with the rise in poverty.
