Late Orchid

Late Orchid is a book of short, contemporary poems, on subjects poets often like to record
and celebrate: experiences, complex inner states of mind and heart and insights into the
world around us. The 45 poems are grouped by theme rather than chronologically ordered
all written between 2006 and 2011 . There are poems on the subject of family relations,
on the nature of love, both for human others and animals, on the nature of poetry itself.
All in free verse, they are terse but transparent, with form and rhythms very
much in the grand poetic tradition.
